SWCS Ontario

Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization -- founded in 1945 -- that serves as an advocate for conservation professionals and for science-based conservation practice, programs, and policy. SWCS has over 4,000 members around the world. Our members come from nearly every academic discipline and many different public, private, and nonprofit institutions.

SWCS Ontario was incorporated in 1978 as a local chapter of the Society and has had strong historical links in the province to conservation authorities, the University of Guelph, and the A. D. Latornell Symposium.

SWCS is based in Ankeny, Iowa. SWCS Ontario is based out of the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Guelph.
